Three, two, one....which? (side story)

"So, about this Saturday, Copper..." said Silver, a close friend of mine.

Silver had planned, along with several others, a surprise made for Argent. The plan was to trick Argent into thinking that they'd be hiking somewhere. Along the way, Silver would eventually go to the "spot" and give him the birthday bash he deserved.

"So, whaddya say, Copper? You free?

I gave Silver an unsure look. I gave him a pathetic smile that gave away the next words that'd come out of my mouth.

"Ah, can't. Sorry. Me and my buddies are going somewhere next week, I already promised them." I said as I tried to not look too pathetic to say that I don't have the cash to go to both.

"Dude, you don't have to go if you don't want to. But it'd be good if you did, y'know, just for Argent."

Argent didn't seem too happy over the past fee months. I felt bad that I said I couldn't go. It didn't exactly help that I had to leave next Monday either. I promised Beryl that I'd go with him to a friend's sleepover.

"I...I'll try. But I'm not making any promises" I said with a grin on my face.

I just couldn't say no. I did want to go though. Problem was, I wish I actually have money. I wished I hadn't spent all that money in playing games and buying all that junk food over the past few weeks. Maybe then I would've been able to go.

"Well, that's that. See you whenever, then." said Silver, while fixing his beloved peculiar scarf, along with his matching coat.

Me and Silver and Radon are interns in a small learning institute somewhere near the school grounds. It was a bit shabby on the outside, but it was definitely different on the inside. The building itself was rather small, and the white optical illusion just made it seemingly bigger.

"Dude, you spacin' out?"

"Wha...?" I said as I realize that I've been staring blankly at the walls of the office's break room. It was already nearing 5:30 pm.

"You look tired, Copper. Wanna get a few Zzz's?" said my co-intern, Radon.

"Yeah, I'm just tired, I guess"

Radon looked at me and scratched his head. He took out a sweet-looking headset, and plugged it into his phone. He pushed his seat back, and gave a relaxed look.

"Over-thinking won't help, Copper." said Radon, as he wears his headset.

I couldn't exactly tell if he knew what I was thinking, or he knew that I actually was brooding over something. Ever since the three of us started our training, we've been a bit too lax. Our bosses weren't exactly picture perfect, same goes for the other staff. That could be the reason for me being lax. But I was sure that Radon was taking things too easy.

"Hey Radon, what time are you gonna go out today?"

"Stop waiting for today to finish and start planning what you really wanna do" said Radon, while rocking his leg and head to the beats he was listening to.

"Wha....how did you...?"

It came to me as a surprise. I never told Radon what I'd be doing over the week. But, he was right. I was too concerned over money and forgot what really counts. I took my bag, and refreshed myself with a cold glass of water, and a trip to the ol' john's. When I came back, Radon was already standing, ready to head out.

"Thanks, I guess"

"heh, next time, buy me a few cig sticks, okay?" said Radon with a cheeky grin on his face.

I still couldn't decide to go to which though...
