3. He who knew what'd happen

A graceful and dazzling mansion stood upon a great cliff that parted the land and sea. Along its shores lies a port specifically made for use of the manor's inhabitants. A great maze-garden of red roses lies in the manor's backyard. The sun blissfully passed over it day-in and day-out, as the manor's seemingly lively halls, eccentric tapestry, and grandiose windows never picked a speck of dust, as if the manor's vigor has never exhausted in all of it's years.

It was, at one night, that the manor's lord had organized a party, one that was as extravagant as the manor itself. The manor's heir, a child no older than ten, had locked himself in his room, along with one of the house's trusted butlers, Barren. The butler had been keeping watch on the boy since the party started, since the boy had refused to go down and meet the guests.

Master Evan, please go downstairs. The Lord and the guests are expecting to see you, Said Barren, as he picked up the boy's stuffed bears on the floor. The young master, who was sitting on his bed, had only gave him a smile as his reply, and then threw  a black, stuffed bear at the unsuspecting butler. The butler immediately tossed away another bear back to his young master, hitting the black, stuffed bear that was thrown to him instead.

I do not wish to go down. Said Evan, as he frowned and looked away from his butler. The young heir stood, and pulled his bedside's drawer. Inside is a stone that shone as soon as light had reached its surface. This won't end well. Evan muttered, as he took the stone out of the drawer. He walked up to Barren, and reached for his hand. You and I are both... said Evan after a soft sigh. Barren, who did not understand what his young master had said, smiled, and led him out of the room.

Chandeliers, Gourmet Dishes, and Beautiful guests decorated the lively halls of the manor. Its lord, who had noticed that his son, Evan, had finally come out of his room, delightfully collected the guests' attention. Ah! My son! Everyone, please welcome the "inheritor" of the house, Evan! . Following an immediate applause, Evan slowly tread the red-carpeted flight of stairs. He did not seemed to be pleased, and yet, he did not look disappointed. However, he could not remove his eyes from one of the guests.

What are you looking at, Evan? its time to start the ceremony! Whispered Evan's father as he signals the house's butlers to prepare what was needed for the ritual. Evan held tight the stone that he took from his room while his eyes were fixated at the same person from the crowd. Father, please call Barren, I need to ask him something before the ceremony starts. Said Evan, with a trembling voice.

Young master, what is it that you require of me? Barren curiously said. Evan took a small bead out of his pocket, and reached for Barren's left hand, and then said: Go to my room and choose the best stuffed bear there. Evan gave Barren a serious look, and added: Tear a hole in its throat, and place the bead there. Stay there until I tell you to leave. Barren, who was baffled what his young master's request, left, and headed to Evan's room. He did what he was told.

The person who had Evan's eyes on him chuckled. He stretched his arms, and cracked his fingers. He closed his eyes, grinned and said: Stop delaying the inevitable, child. We both know what happens next
