The DOP's onlooker

The role "Director of Photography" (DOP) for the film SEKEND means that you're the one behind the camera, capturing all those scenes with lights, props, and the location you're at, and then we jot the details of the tapes in our little log sheets... that's how a -normal- member functions if you're under the DOP group. But after a few weeks of shooting with the  production crew, things are starting to get a little out of hand. As a frequent onlooker, i've seen how our some of our -seemingly- active co-production members operate.

Let's start with the heart, mind, and soul of our crew!

Our FLESH and BLOOD- who i shall name Mr. Bear, is the one who carries the most burden, both in our production and his sanity, functions more than how he should! Why, with his "strength of the bear!" ability, he can carry (and he usually does) most of our props! He's well informed about the forest's sweet, sweet, nectar...the ones that the DOP uses the most! He also gave piggy-back rides to little children that the -seemingly- active, -seemingly- fit job description-oriented organ of the production crew, the STOMACH! [who i shall later name]. With his massive physique, he could serve also as a guard as to not let anyone pass! Let's not forget about that thick fur of his, which wards of anything COLD or HOT that tries to WEAR HIM DOWN!! It is, however, a fact that once he hibernates...when you try to wake him up....

Our SKIN and BONES- are the guys and gals that brings those important stuff that makes a scene more....interesting. Most SKIN that they bring are pretty obvious, and frequently used in most shoots. There are, however, BONES that are quite important in establishing the scene's body. Problem is, however, that these BONES are sometimes hard to obtain, and it's up to Mr. Bear yet again to scavenge the land. This group is very participative and active, however, when exposed to heat, gets easily irritated and agitated, and when they do...

Our EYES and EARS- The group is divided into two (hence the name). Our EARS is pretty much the ones that handles the shoot's eardrums. They're earnest in the things that they do, but some of them get stuck in earwax, in which most cases, makes them hardly seen. The EYES, however, are different. From what this onlooker sees and knows, one is a lazy eye. When that lazy eye gets work, things tend to get a little...

Our FEET - carries every piece of our production crew's BODY. They handle everything needed to travel and handles the footwear for the body to be able to carry itself out of the house. They're very convenient to have, but not every step is like that of a dance's. In an earlier shoots, Mr. Bear was forced to carry some weight, which made him grumpy. Oh, and they also answer one of Dora the explorer's frequently asked question: "Where do we go next?"

Our DIGESTIVE SYSTEM- Digests and processes the food that the body ate. After every shoot, they -seemingly- take note of things that the DOP jot down. They're the ones that extracts nutrients from the food, and excretes the wastes. Sadly, the Digestive track seems to be on "hyper-acidity". A lone member in this group has done exemplary effort, and so -that- person was promoted.

Our HANDS- gives the body food to eat, be it good or bad, the stomach will always filter those. The HANDS, along with Mr. Bear, ensures that the food we get are "edible". The HANDS sometimes help with other groups like the EYES, but not to the extent of doing their job for them.

Our BRAIN- Is divided into two parts. The left side is dominated by our esteemed, seemingly energetic director, And the Right side is the domain of our god-sent teacher and guardian of the equipment we use. We cannot fully function well without the guidance of our brain, and with that, it's pretty obvious what they do for the body, don't they?

Well, this leaves the last group, the DOP
Since im sorta biased [ ehehehehe >:)) ] I'll just say that our group has faults too. We accidentally broke one of the stuff we use, and it's not funny how we had to come up with an alternative solution to -not- pay the full price. It was fun watching how the cams work, and it was more fun to use em'.

Well, that's all for the rants this onlooker can say. Hopefully, our Indie Film SEKEND would be a hit, so that we get our -donations- back. And like I said before, Its not funny how a group has to come-up with an alternative solution to -not- pay the full price. With that said, I bid you farewell and with a few words of advice:

TAKE CARE OF YOUR EQUIPMENT!
