Crushes!

Crushes. You've certainly have or had one. And there's always that friend that asks you: dude, who's your crush? It used to be a hard question to answer back in my earlier years in high school. If you liked someone during that time, you'd do anything to get noticed: Sing on stage during contests, Bring out your special chocolate out on valentines, or always pair with them on group activities. If you had a cellphone and so did she, you'd get their number too.

Of course those methods still work, but now it's more shy guy/gal-friendly.

It's out with the old and in with the new, I guess. The younger guys are just expressive nowadays.
Making your existence known to someone you like is just a friend request away. Not only that, but you can see what they're up to, and where they are. It's like an effective stalking tool, and it's free! Don't you just love progress? Now, expressing how you feel is just a few taps and clicks away. And as long as you don't start naming, you're gonna get likes, favorites or retweets. Or better yet, get noticed by your beloved. Doesn't that sound sweet?

But why is a crush called as such? A funny reason I thought why before was it crushes you if you can't handle having one. I've seen my fair share of crush-related outbursts; physical or otherwise. Watching someone else's doubts and insecurities in real life isn't the same as when you're online. Simple text and emoticons on a white background can't exactly say what you mean, or how you feel.

We'll see how technology expands and how well the young'ns did their stuff in around 10 or so years. Romantic relations over the net would be more plausible by that time, I'm guessing. Asking someone out personally might still be the best option by that time too. Who knows, you just might end up with that girl you've been eying on.
